Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern use of www.edinburghpeptides.co.uk and orders placed with Edinburgh Research Ltd, trading as Edinburgh Peptides (“we”, “us”, “our”). They should be read with our Research Use Policy, Privacy Policy, and Shipping & Returns policy. Each of those documents forms part of the agreement between you and us. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and the Research Use Policy, these Terms apply.

Last updated: 24 August 2026.

1. About us

Edinburgh Peptides is a trading name of Edinburgh Research Ltd (Company No. SC895591). Registered office: 3, Third Floor, Hill Street, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, EH2 3JP. Contact: info@edinburghpeptides.co.uk.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, the Research Use Policy, the Privacy Policy, and the Shipping & Returns policy. If you do not agree, you must leave the website and must not place an order.

At checkout you must confirm that you are 18 or over, that you are buying for research and development purposes only, and that you accept these Terms, the Research Use Policy, and the Privacy Policy. We may refuse or cancel an order where that confirmation is not given, or where we reasonably believe it is untrue.

3. Eligibility

You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and that you are a qualified person acting for legitimate laboratory or research purposes. We may ask you to evidence eligibility at any time. We may refuse, delay, or cancel any order where eligibility cannot reasonably be established, or where we reasonably suspect that the order is not for permitted research use.

4. Regulatory position

Products supplied through this website are research materials intended for laboratory research use only. Research & Development purposes only — not for human or animal consumption. They are not authorised as medicinal products and do not hold a marketing authorisation in the United Kingdom or elsewhere. They are not presented as, and are not intended to, diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease or medical condition in humans or animals. Nothing on this website is medical advice, or an offer to supply a medicinal product.

We supply products only as laboratory research materials to purchasers who meet the eligibility requirements in these Terms. We may decline any order that we reasonably consider is inconsistent with that basis, or that we reasonably consider would be unlawful or inappropriate to fulfil.

5. Permitted and prohibited use

All products are sold strictly for laboratory research purposes. They are not for human or animal use. They are not medicines, medical devices, food supplements, cosmetics, or products for human or veterinary consumption.

You must not use products for any of the following:

  • human or animal use or consumption
  • medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, or clinical use
  • cosmetic use
  • use as a food additive, drug, or medical device
  • recreational use
  • any purpose other than legitimate laboratory research

Any use outside permitted research purposes is prohibited.

6. Customer responsibilities

You represent and confirm that you:

  • understand the safe handling of laboratory research materials
  • will comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws that apply to your purchase, import, storage, handling, disposal, and use
  • will apply proper laboratory hygiene and safety controls
  • will not misrepresent the intended use of any product
  • are responsible for any downstream user to whom you transfer the material, including warning them of relevant hazards

We may limit or refuse sales where we reasonably suspect misuse, or where supply would, in our reasonable opinion, be unlawful or inconsistent with these Terms.

7. No advice

Information on this website is provided to describe research materials only. We do not give medical advice, dosage guidance, or recommendations for human or animal use. Storage or handling notes on product pages are laboratory information only. They are not reconstitution protocols, treatment instructions, or an invitation to use a product outside permitted research.

You must rely on your own professional judgement and on the procedures of your laboratory or institution. Nothing on this website authorises any use other than laboratory research.

8. Orders, pricing, payment, and availability

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm the order and/or dispatch the goods after payment has been verified. Orders are subject to stock and to our acceptance. We may refuse, cancel, or limit an order where eligibility is not established, stock is unavailable, payment cannot be verified, or we reasonably consider that fulfilment would breach these Terms or applicable law.

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and may change before you place an order. Discount codes apply only as stated at checkout. Payment is by Pay by Bank (Open Banking) through your UK banking app at checkout. The methods available at checkout are the methods we accept for that order.

9. Shipping

Free Royal Mail 1st class tracked on UK orders. Orders placed and paid before 17:00 on a business day (Monday–Friday) typically dispatch the same day. Later orders typically dispatch the next business day. Delivery times after dispatch are estimates. We ship to verified UK addresses after payment confirmation.

Full dispatch details are set out in Shipping & Returns.

10. Returns and cancellation

If you are a consumer, you may cancel a purchase of sealed research materials within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason. That window is the statutory cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. It runs from delivery, not from dispatch or the order date.

The item must still be unopened, with the vial's own seal or cap intact. Outer packaging alone is not enough. Once that seal is broken, the item is treated as unsealed goods supplied for hygiene or health-protection reasons and is not covered by the statutory cancellation right.

Start a request on the contact form, giving your order reference and the details of your request, before posting anything back. We will then contact you. To make sure your return reaches the right place, please wait for our return instructions before posting — this does not affect your statutory cancellation rights. Return postage is paid by you. After we receive the returned goods, we issue the refund within 14 days, to the original Pay by Bank payment method.

Current UK orders include free tracked postage, so the original outbound delivery cost is £0. If a delivery charge was paid, a valid statutory cancellation refunds the item plus that original delivery cost. That is separate from return postage, which you pay.

Transit damage, the wrong item, or a lost parcel can be reported on the contact form at any time. Those claims are not limited to 14 days and do not depend on the item still being sealed. See Shipping & Returns.

11. Intellectual property

Website content, branding, product imagery, and product descriptions are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or reuse them for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

12. Prohibited website conduct

You must not:

  • upload or send any unlawful, defamatory, abusive, or misleading content
  • use the website for an unauthorised commercial purpose
  • represent, imply, or suggest that our products are supplied for any prohibited use

Any communication that suggests intended misuse may result in immediate refusal of service. Where appropriate, we may refer the matter to the relevant authorities.

13. International purchasers

This website may be accessible outside the United Kingdom. We currently ship to verified UK addresses only. If you access the website from another country, you are solely responsible for ensuring that your access, and any purchase or use of products, complies with the laws that apply to you. Nothing on this website means that purchase or use is lawful in any particular country.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Edinburgh Research Ltd, Edinburgh Peptides, and our directors, officers, employees, and agents against claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the products, except to the extent caused by our negligence or breach of these Terms.

15. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

Subject to that, the website and the products are provided as they are and as available. We are not liable for misuse, unlawful use, or use contrary to these Terms or the Research Use Policy. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive loss. Our total liability in respect of any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

16. Website availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the website. We may suspend, restrict, or withdraw access at any time, including for maintenance, security, or operational reasons.

17. Changes, severability, and entire agreement

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page on the date you place an order is the version that applies to that order. A later update does not change an order we have already accepted.

If a court finds any provision of these Terms invalid or unenforceable, that provision is treated as removed and the remaining provisions continue to apply.

These Terms, together with the Research Use Policy, the Privacy Policy, the Shipping & Returns policy, and any other policy linked from this website that we identify as forming part of the agreement, are the entire agreement between you and us about use of this website and the purchase of products. They replace any earlier understanding, whether written or spoken, on the same subject.

18. Governing law

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims), are governed by the laws of Scotland. The courts of Scotland have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
